{Rachael Review}... Bag it a Budget?

After reflecting over my past few more serious post's such as stalkers and ex's (Often which go hand in hand in my case) I'm lightening up today with a review...

Now, I hate washing my hair everyday.... It ruins your hair and it's the quickest way to split ends... So I've been training my hair to only need washed every other day, as none of us ladies want split end galore... So I've had to recruit the help of some hair care products to help my hair go the distance...

I don't like the creepy front:
Umberto Giannini Monring After:
Dry Shampoo (Boots £5.61)
When you don't wash your hair that day and you need to go out or something you don't want it to give the look in the slightest that you haven't washed it eg you don't want greasy looking hair - as gross as that sounds... So a couple of years ago now my mum and sister introduced me to the fabulous dry shampoo to help me along with the process...

I've always used the help Batiste Dry Shampoo I was originally given the Hint of Color: Medium & Brunette... Obviously for my hair color, but never really fancied the smell all that much, so I set out to find the  kind that was for me...

I'd always heard good things about a more expensive brand by Umberto Giannini... So when I got a sample of their Morning after, Dry Shampoo, I thought I'd give it a try...

Now it stands in Boots at £5.61 which I think is a bit pricey for dry shampoo, but worth it if it's a star... So filled with optimism, I chose this as the one I took on holiday... Unfortunately it wasn't worth it in my opinion... you need to use a lot of it to see any effect, which at that price kind of makes it bad value for money, the smell wasn't that bad, but I'd say that's the only positive thing about it... After reading soo many good reviews I was awoken to the face the horrible truth, good reviews and price, do not necessarily make a good product... Price lies! - Also if I'm going to be picky and deadly honest I didn't like the drawing style cover of the tin...

So I went back to the old reliable Batiste, but I decided to try and find the type for me...

I tried the Floral, Blush and Cherry but in my honesty, I love flowers, and fruit, but I didn't enjoy the idea or the smell that my hair resembled a florist's shop and bowl of fruit and my disliking of these types went straight out...

My favorite Dry Shampoo YET!
Batiste: Cool & Crisp: Fresh
(Boots £2)
I sat there and thought, I'm not the girliest and don't want my hair smelling like strawberries, I wanted something that matched my fresh smelling shampoo, as I don't just want my hair to look fresh but smell it... They in hit me like a brick wall - Try the Batiste Cool & Crisp Fresh scent!

I got it and I will NEVER go back... It does exactly what it says on the tin!
I know it was made as the unisex scent, but really then where can a girl like me go wrong?!
It keeps my hair the state I want it in-between washes and I bought it nicely for £1.50 from Superdrug... So my student life style shall not be faltered by the cost it is to make me look beautiful...

So at the end of the day, I found my perfect dry shampoo to keep me going and to avoid the look of greasy roots... I found something incredibly easy to use, low in price, and I'm happy to say I got one of the best budget buys ever and use it all the time...
So if you want something to keep your hair looking fresh, I say don't think you have to wait until payday and go for the budget buy, why wait when the best thing is in your price range now?

All in all I've learnt something with my looking for the perfect thing for my hair:

  • Just because something has a big name and a big price, doesn't make it the best, always go for the cheaper if you can!

Is Job Hunting a Dating Game?

In today’s economic climate and unemployment at an all-time high, I recently found myself in the very common situation of job hunting. Since finishing university for the summer, without loans and grants, I have found I’m burying myself with further job applications. That awkward feeling, like many of you get, going, I want to be able to afford X,Y and Z, whether it be a summer holiday, the latest trend or something as simple as paying the rent and to do that I need one of the most difficult things to get, a job! But, sitting there thinking, how do I go about it? Struck a thought in my mind:

‘How different is job hunting to Dating?’

Thinking back on my dating and job hinting experiences they prove to be very similar things.
Firstly, you write your curriculum vitae (a fancy word for C.V) and your cover letter. You sit and write all your qualifications and promote yourself as highly as you can without sounding simply pompous. You tell your possible future employer everything they want to and need to hear.  Then you send it in and wait for them to either want to see you or not.

To be honest, I  compared it to that awkward first date moment, where you sit in front of this person you like, and basically, as humbly as you can, tell them how amazing you are and hope they like all they hear enough for a second date... You find yourself digging up these moments of when you won first prize in an art competition when you were six, to try and impress them.

We all have our fail safe stories in which we always impart on our prey whether it is a job or a man...
You almost flirt with the job, as well, in the way, they have these specifics they need from you, and you faithfully rhyme them off with ease that you fit in perfectly with all of them... They need someone with 'good communication skills' well, by Jove, you have good communication skills.... They need a 'people person'... and shockingly, you love people...

You do it on a date too... He likes a certain football team... so do you... or even if you hate football, you tell them if you had to pick a favourite team, it would be theirs.... Which you end up growing to like, despite how boring they are...

It's not that we lie, we do have 'good communication skills' and we don't hate football, but we are willing to try it for the job or the man! Because we feel we need and want both of these things. We want to impress these people enough to desire to see us again. To make them need to see us. Then, if we do it well enough, mission accomplished, if not, we the process again.

Why is it we do this?

Whether it is for a job or a man I don't think I've ever not 'been myself', whether it be a job interview or a date, just the best possible version of me. This is what we do, we only discuss and flirt with these enhanced views on us because no-one in their right mind would walk into an interview or a date and discuss this one time they 'cheated on their boyfriend' or 'cheated in a test' we leave them disclosures out, out of simple common sense to get what want and need. People want to be liked by something they want. We want to be wanted. No matter if it's a future employer or a future man.

So, if you like football, well I like football too!
